Maryland Faerie Festival Announces New Date and Location
After 7 joyous years at the Patuxent River 4-H Center in Upper Marlboro, the Goblins are whisking the Maryland Faerie Festival to a new place and date. The Maryland Faerie Festival will be at Camp Ramblewood in Darlington Maryland, on May 11 - 13, 2012.
This location includes expansive shaded and wooded areas, greater open space, covered stages and seating, for full days of faerie magic. The Goblin antics and faerie festivities will continue in the evenings, no matter what the weather, because of the large indoor dance floor and stage.
The move allows the event to expand to 3 days, to offer an escape from the everyday with the Faerie Ring Camping Experience, meal plan, and the return of Summerfest as a gala Faerie Ball on Saturday evening. Friday and Sunday evening activities include fire and drumming spectacles.
The Maryland Faerie Festival will offer package deals for attending, as well as a discount for day visitors for coming in costume. Visit www.marylandfaeriefestival.org to find out more or to volunteer.
“The 2012 Maryland Faerie Festival will be the newest and most unique Faerie experience available on the east coast!” said Kal, the event’s producer. “Come join us in the magical ring of mushrooms in 2012.”
The Maryland Faerie Festival provides an atmosphere and entertainment inspired by Faerie folklore and literature, and, of course, by the Faeries themselves. Maryland Faeries promote the stewardship of nature, outdoor education, and sponsor faerie artists, merchants and entertainment. As a 501c-3 nonprofit organization, the Maryland Faerie Festival provides educational and outreach opportunities for groups whose mission also encourages love, cooperation, peace, harmony and respect for all beings.
